AUBURN — Androscoggin County commissioners Wednesday approved spending up to $1.2 million from its share of the American Rescue Plan Act to purchase a new records management system for the Sheriff’s Office.
It includes all hardware and software. Communities could see maintenance fees drop after the system is installed, which could take up to two years, Sheriff Eric Samson said.
The records management system will now include Lisbon, which is using a stand-alone system, Samson said. With the addition of Lisbon, the county is maintaining records for every community in the county.
In other business, commissioners approved spending $149,995 to pay for Berry Dunn of Portland to provide design, reporting and compliance services as American Rescue Plan Act consultants for the county.
Acting county Administrator Clarice Proctor said bids for the HVAC system in the county complex are due Feb. 9
She added that the county is still searching for an information technology director.
