An Otisfield man was charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault after shooting a woman in the hand with a AR-15 style rifle Saturday.
At approximately 7:10 p.m, the Oxford County Regional Communication Center received a call reporting that a woman had been shot outside a residence on Bell Hill Road in Otisfield, according to a release from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
The Oxford and Cumberland county sheriff’s offices responded to the scene, as did the Maine State Police, Oxford and Norway police departments, Otisfield Fire Department and an ambulance service.
Emergency responders found the 28-year-old victim, who had been shot in the hand. She was treated at the scene and later transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
