MECHANIC FALLS — There will be a Church Craft Fair on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene, 5 Oak St. Mechanic Falls.

Soup Fest

With great enthusiasm we announce the 9th Annual “Soup, Chowder and Chili Fest,” at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, 231 Rayville Road, Otisfield, to be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  We will be serving a host of delicious choices such as Dutch Split Pea Soup, Curried Carrot and Ginger Soup, Garden Patch Chowder, Fish Chowder, Seafood Chowder, Sausage and Bean Soup, Venison Chili, and more.

All will be accompanied by your choice of rolls or biscuits and a selection of preserves and jams. Desert consists of cookies, bars, and sweets. Donations will graciously be accepted and used to benefit local community needs of our friends and neighbors. We hope to see you there. Come hungry, leave happy. Bon Appetit!

Pie Sale

SUMNER — Do you need a little sweet and savory to help with this Maine winter? Or something special to serve the family after an outing? Take care of that with home-baked pies from the cooks at the Congregational Church of East Sumner. We lowered our prices as we know everyone is concerned about the economy. CCES is taking pre-orders until February 9. The 9” pies will be available at the church on February 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pie choices are: chicken pie and chicken pot pie-$15, apple, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry rhubarb, raspberry-$12. Quantities are limited; orders will be filled as they come in. When you pick up your pies, plan to sit and enjoy a bowl of chili with a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. So many choices! CPR

CPR Certification including adult, child and infant CPR and AED use and adult and infant choking.  This class uses manikins, videos, certified instructor and has ample time for the practical components.  Taught by American Heart Association standards.  Workbook is $10.
