Constance “Connie” T. Doboga

AUBURN – Constance “Connie” T. Doboga wife of Bernard D. Doboga of 62 Ferry Rd. Lisbon, died peacefully on Saturday Aug. 19, 2023

She was born Dec. 7, 1925 in Lisbon, the daughter of Israel and Onelda Breton Lavigne. She was a Lisbon resident her entire life and a communicant of the Holy Trinity Parish.

Mrs. Doboga was a graduate of St. Bernadelle Elementary and Commercial Course School, graduated from ACME Business College in 1943. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years before retiring as Lisbon Postmaster, a position she held for more than 20 years.

She was a member of NAPUS American Legion Aux Post 158 ~ Raymond J. Lavigne Post 9459. She served as a commentator and lector at Holy Trinity Parish.

Mrs. Doboga was an avid golfer, skier, bowler and a true Boston Red Sox fan. She loved entertaining at her pool and summer family outings. But mostly she adored time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Doboga was married to Bernard D. Doboga Sept. 4, 1948. They had a beautiful love for 50 years, until his passing.

She is survived by her daughter and husband Marcia and Robert Harvey of Durham; two grandchildren, Matthew Bedell of Lisbon and Stephanie Baker of Richmond; two step-grandchildren, Michelle Harvey Gustwick and husband Christopher Gustwick of Rincon, Ga., and Jennifer Harvey David and husband Derek David of Lisbon Falls; four great-grandchildren, Emma Baker of Richmond, Joshua Bedell, Kyle Bedell ,Michaela Bedell Brannon and husband Tucker Brannon of Lewiston; one great-great-grandson, Benjamin Brannon; sister-in-law, Martha Lavigne of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard D. Doboga,; two brothers, Raymond J. Lavigne, who was killed in action in Italy while serving during WWII and Roland Lavigne of South Carolina.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Thursday Aug. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Lisbon Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at Holy TrinityParish, 67 Frost Hill Ave. Lisbon Falls. A burial will take place at the Maine Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
