STATE — Grants to 10 organizations from the Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) will help strengthen nonprofit organizations and projects in Oxford County. The Oxford County Committee awarded a total of $68,610 through MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program.

Grant recipients include:

  • Denmark Arts Center, to provide live music, theater, art shows, children’s’ camps, author readings, and workshops
  • MSAD #44, to operate a childcare and early-learning center in Bethel
  • Bethel Area District Exchange and Food Pantry, for its food pantry, used-clothing store, food delivery, farm-to-pantry, senior food boxes, and school snack and backpack programs

The Oxford County Fund is a permanent endowment that supports projects and nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities. Proposals are submitted through MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program, the foundation’s largest, and are reviewed by a committee of community members.
