DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Franco Center has a wonderful group of volunteers and we need more to help with specific events on our calendar.
On Oct. 19, 20 and 21 we will host our indoor Fright Night Walk day and night and need help setting up the scary scenes in our basement, as well as costumed actors to play the roles of ghoulish characters. Volunteers can select whichever slots are convenient.
On Dec. 15 and 16, we will hold our Sights and Sounds of Christmas Variety and Light show. We need performers, greeters, ushers and more. All volunteers can sign up with or ask questions of Susan at 689-2000 or boxoffice@francocenter.org.
You all have been very helpful to the Franco Center in the past. We are at 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston. Your readers may recognize our building as the former St. Mary’s Church. Our events are open to the public and people do not need to belong to a club or be of a specific heritage to attend.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Add me to the list of readers who are struggling with the crossword puzzles lately. Some clues border on ridiculous. I’ve deferred to using the internet to help me with answers after giving it a couple of tries, but I can’t find anything that relates to the clue in many searches. I too, had very successful results in previous years. – Cal, Litchfield
