Announcement was made at the White House today that Mrs. Coolidge would retain Miss Laura Harlan, daughter of the late Associate Justice Harlan, as her secretary. Miss Harlan was secretary to Mrs. Harding.

50 Years Ago: 1973

Motorists traveling from Auburn to Lewiston by way of the Third Bridge will soon be traveling over a freshly paved blacktop. The blacktop work which got underway Wednesday, is one more step in normalizing traffic over the bridge, which has been one way for nearly a year.

25 Years Ago: 1998

Watercolors and pastels by Kittery Point artist Wendy L. Turner will be featured through Sept. 13th at the Thos. Mosher Gallery Cabinet Makers, 149 Main Street, in Kittery.
