DEAR SUN SPOTS: On July 22, I lost an envelope of cash. The last time I saw it was at Turner Center, but I made several stops coming back to Greene by way of Allen Pond Road. You can reach me at 946-5579 and please leave a message if I don’t answer. I have not given up hope. — No name, Greene

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Last Friday, Aug. 11, when I was at the Topsham Fair I lost $100. It must have fallen out of my pocket. I’m 12 years old and earned this doing farm chores and I worked hard for it.

I know this is a long shot and I’m trying not to be too upset. I realize the money is probably gone for good, but I hope some nice person found it and will return it to me. Please call 504-0545 if you are that person. — No name, Bowdoin

ANSWER: It’s always upsetting when money is lost that you were counting on spending for something needed or for something fun. If the cash is returned, let us know.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is an unusual request, but I would like to know if anyone has ever gone swimming at Sandy Bottom Beach in Turner. Would you please write about some of your memories there?

If you or yours were the culprits who put our picnic tables in the pond 63 years ago, you can ‘fess up now. Swimming half way or more across the pond in the early morning and seeing those tables back then wasn’t our kind of picnic fun. (Do you remember if you were the culprits?)

Other good memories are welcome. As for me, I remember a family that came early Sunday mornings and left at sunset. We always looked for the many children they had and the kind parents who gave their children the opportunity to swim, swim and swim.

And if you now live at Sandy Bottom Estates and went there when it was a beach, please fill me in.

Ms. Sun Spots, did you ever swim at Sandy Bottom Beach? — Marion, Greene
