A Central Maine Power worker cuts lines from a utility pole Monday evening near the corner of Russell Street and East Avenue in Lewiston. Chad Aube, 42, of Lewiston was rounding the corner from Russell Street onto East Avenue in a 2005 GMC Savana and hit a telephone pole, severing the pole and disabling the vehicle, police said. Aube and his passenger were shaken up but did not require medical attention. Traffic was shut down on Russell Street until CMP workers could replace the pole and get lines back up, according to police. CMP said no power outages were reported in the area. The crash is under investigation. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal
