The Twin City Thunder fell behind early and couldn’t rebound Saturday.

The Boston Advantage defeated the Thunder 4-2 at Auburn’s Norway Savings Bank Arena in a USPHL NCDC game.

The Advantage (19-15-4, 42 points) leap the South Shore Kings (19-15-3, 41 points) for third place in the Northern Division. The Kings have an eight-point lead over the Thunder (15-18-3, 33 points) for the fourth and final playoff spot in the division.

Luke Panchisin opened the scoring for the Advantage by beating Thunder goalie Trey Miller 5:17 into the first period.

Panchisin then set up Jacob Bigras, who made it 2-0 Advantage 17:32 into the first period.

Both goals were on the power play.

James Tatro cut the Thunder’s deficit in half 14:34 into the middle frame. Patrick Last had the assist. The Thunder evened the game up 58 seconds later when forward Matthew Cole scored his sixth goal of the season. Tristan Rand set the tally up.

Jackson Borst gave Boston a 3-2 lead a little over five minutes into the third period.

Noah-David Dayan added an insurance marker in the final minute of the game.

The Thunder host the second-place Northern Cyclones (23-9-4, 50 points) on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
