Daughters of Isabella planning bean supper

JAY — The Daughters of Isabella of St. Rose of Lima will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the parish hall.

Members will discuss the bean supper to be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30. The group needs helpers to work at the supper and members to make pies for dessert. A raffle of food and homemade items will be held.

The Daughters will host a free supper on Friday, April 5. They need help in planning it and setting up a committee.

Jay Democrats to host annual breakfast

JAY — The Jay Democratic Committee will host the 47th annual Franklin County Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the VFW Hall.

The breakfast will include pancakes with blueberry sauce and maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. Adults will pay $8; $4 for children under 12.

Day snowshoe hike at French Falls

JAY — A St. Patrick’s Day Snowshoe Hike will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 17,  at French Falls, hosted by the Jay Recreation Committee.

The trek is a follow-up to the Full Moon Hike so participants can see the trails and scenery during the day. Parking is available at the end of French Falls Lane and those going will meet at the trail entrance.

Bring snowshoes, poles (optional), water and a snack and warm clothing (layers suggested). Those in need of snowshoes should call the Jay Recreation Committee in advance.
