Since meeting Alicia Rea more than two years ago, I have been continually impressed by her work ethic and critical thinking on the Lewiston Education Fund Board while balancing her career, graduate school and volunteer commitments. In recent months, she has taken the lead on an additional project — our largest fall fundraiser — to help with continuity through multiple board transitions.
Rea is always available and responsive, and she provides consistency in her work on the board. I believe she would bring her positive energy to the Lewiston City Council. In prioritizing education in her volunteer role with the board, Rea has been able to learn more about the Lewiston school system and the needs of students and teachers.
I hope others will join me this fall in support of Alicia Rea for Lewiston City Council, Ward 3.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
