AUBURN — The Auburn Recreation Department is announcing the first annual Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Draft League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby to be held Friday, August 4 at 6 p.m. at the Pettengill Park Softball Field in Auburn.

The Draft League was a new program introduced by the Auburn Recreation Staff this summer. Teams were comprised of 88 individuals who were selected in a true draft process to create a competitive slow pitch softball league. Team and individual stats were collected throughout the regular season to help guide the All-Star Selection Committee. A total of 28 individuals were selected to create National League and American League teams for the nine-inning All-Star Game.

The evening will begin with a Home Run Derby at 6 p.m. where each of the eight teams in the league selects one representative to compete for the title of 2017 Home Run Derby Champion.

The All-Star Game will begin at 7:15 p.m. following the National Anthem, starting lineup announcements, and ceremonial first pitch.
