SCARBOROUGH — Dawn passed away June 24, 2017 with family and friends by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 1, 1969, the daughter of James and Helen Hall. Dawn graduated from Gray-New Gloucester schools (class of ‘87). She ran a home daycare for many years and was also employed by Maine Medical Center and Anthem Insurance, where she met some of her closest friends.
Her world revolved around her children. Some of her favorite times were had on family vacations, spending time at camp, being a dance mom and of course baking her famous cupcakes for anyone at any time. Her love for life was infectious and it shown in her smile.
Dawn is survived by her parents, James and Helen Hall of Gray; husband of 24 years, Chris Bailey of Gray; son, Tyler Bailey and partner, Kristina Vine, of Northford, Conn.; daughter, Kelsey Bailey and partner, David McCann, of Gray and New Gloucester; sister, Samantha Dufresne, husband Mark and nephews, Zeb and Zeke, of Gray; aunt, Barbara Hall Davis of Gray; her extended family; and many friends.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
