I am ashamed of the political process and the accompanying behavior. I have had no less than eight people a day banging on my door for weeks, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. I have had phone calls at 5:30 a.m. My phone has rung hundreds of times and I have gotten dozens of texts — all unsolicited.

I have dumped my mail into the garbage daily as my box is filled with redundancy. As much as six pieces of mail a day from the same candidate.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Emily Cain and Bruce Poliquin, Bettyann Sheats and whoever — I have the right to peace and quiet. When campaigners or pollsters decide to drive the 125 feet of my driveway and proceed to my house, they are over-stepping their bounds, especially when even more people come along.

I have never seen anything so pushy and alienating.

My yes vote, my no vote or my lack of a vote is not any concern to anyone but me. Don’t argue with me when I won’t vote yes on a question. People fight with me in my driveway after showing up uninvited? Seriously?

It is interesting to see the campaigns being run the way the world sees Americans — pushy, entitled and self-serving.

Our forefathers would be excited at what the political scene has become, I’m sure.
