Day of Quiet for meditation, prayer

NORWAY — Christ Episcopal Church will hold a Day of Quiet with meditation and prayer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at 35 Paris St.

The event will give those attending an opportunity to refocus their hearts, minds and souls from all the busy-ness of the season and prepare to enter into the holy seasons of Advent and Christmas with a peaceful, open and joyful spirit.

The day will include opportunities to learn some new prayer and meditation practices or simply take the time to shut out all distractions and be still.

Lunch will be provided by donation.

Reservations are required by Wednesday, Nov. 9.

LePage to speak at Jay church

JAY — Republican Gov. Paul LePage will address veterans organizations and first responders at the New Life Baptist Church’s community service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at 66 Hyde Road.

The service will last about 90 minutes.

Daughters of Isabella meet

JAY — The Daughters of Isabella 677, St. Rose of Lima, met Oct. 27 for a social and celebrate Halloween.
