Update on International Student Program at MBHS
Lisa Dalrymple of Mt. Blue High School provided an update to Regional School Unit 9 Board of Directors on the progress of the International Student Program, which sees teenagers from Mexico, China and even Saudi Arabia visiting Maine for a year and experience everything the Farmington community has to offer.

Mt. Blue High School Principal Monique Poulin shared with the Regional School Unit 9 Board of Directors updates on the music and theater programs at Mt. Blue High School as well as the BARR program, a program geared towards freshmen to increase the possibility of high school completion.

Contributors, athletes, and coaches were nominated to the newly formed Mt. Blue Athletic Hall of Fame based on their records, accomplishments, dedication, and legacies since the high school opened in 1968.

Bridge Academy will be taking students of MBHS enrolled in their program to Washington, D.C., where they will spend five days receiving guided tours of war memorials, museums and the U.S. Capitol.

RSU 9 community debates gender-identity poster
Thirty people addressed the Regional School Unit 9 Board of Directors during meeting Tuesday, Sept. 13, to discuss a poster hanging at Mt. Blue High and Middle schools called "Gender 101." People during public comment showed support for the poster, while others called for its removal. For now, Superintendent Chris Elkington has determined in a review the poster will stay in place.

RSU 9 sets COVID-19 guidelines for 2022-23 year
The relaxed guidelines, in accordance with the Maine CDC and DOE, no longer require districts to contact trace or notify families of children who may have been exposed to a student in the same classroom or on the same bus.
