Countdown to the 179th Farmington Fair is on
The Franklin County Agricultural Society is putting the finishing touches on the fairgrounds in preparation for the 179th Farmington Fair, which opens Sunday, Sept. 15, and runs until Saturday, Sept. 21. The work to put the fair on begins each spring and lasts several weeks after the fair closes.

Western Maine Development Group, LLC alerted the Wilton Planning Board that it expects expansion and additional tenants at the old GH Bass & Co. location on Weld Road, including a medical marijuana business that has plans to expand to hemp production.

Since its inception in 2013, Western Maine Homeless Outreach has helped more than 300 Mainers transition out of homelessness. WMHO focuses its services on families in need and guests are carefully screened to ensure the shelter is a safe haven for children.

Wilton’s Forster Mill is no more
Demolition of Forster Mill has been completed. Once final sign-off from Maine Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is issued, town officials will consider future use of the site.
