Churches across the state held blessing of the animals ceremonies this weekend, in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi's feast day. Central Maine saw many ceremonies, including at St. Michael Catholic Parish in Augusta and St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow.

Augusta man pleads guilty to assaulting federal officer
