Froma Harrop: Biden voters should also know: It’s over
It came as no surprise that Donald Trump’s supporters would hold a protest in Washington, D.C., claiming their hero won an election that he lost badly. More curious were the foes of the president who bothered with a counterprotest after Joe Biden triumphed in, by some counting, a historic margin. Did they think there were […]

Jim Benson: Gov. Mills needs to go
Gov. Mills continues to ignore Mainers’ will to have a say in government issues. She views Mainers as too stupid as to know what’s in their best interest. Enough is enough. Her dictatorship has to stop. I am more than happy to drop her off at the nearest beach. She can social distance and pound […]

Stan Tetenman: Let’s protect our democracy
The election is over. Biden is the winner – not an apparent winner. In my lifetime, Trump is the only president who has not made a concession call to the winner and started the process of transition to a new administration. He and prominent members of the Republican Party have made accusations of voter fraud […]

Jonathan Cohen: Trump advocates distrust of democratic practices
If it was only a matter of being a sore loser, you could excuse Trump. But what he’s doing — loudly advocating distrust of our most basic democratic practices, and making it harder for Biden to take up the position — is making us weaker as a nation. Bad enough he’s spent the past three […]

Nelson Baillargeon: Mills has handled pandemic well
I would like to take a moment to thank Gov. Mills for her handling of the coronavirus. I am a Republican who did not vote for her, but right now I am happy she is our governor. She has had to walk a fine line to protect Mainers from this devastating virus, as well as […]
