Boxberry Students Display Artwork at Portland Museum of Art

OXFORD — Boxberry School students Sophie List and Simon Whitaker are displaying their artwork this month as a part of the Maine Student Art Show at the Portland Museum of Art.

Their artwork was chosen by their teachers, Samantha Armstrong and Jessica Person, from a body of work created by all Boxberry students. Both themes are related to their last learning expedition or thematic unit, on water and specifically ocean life.

List’s artwork, “Sea Creatures,” was created with oil pastels and watercolor resist. Whitaker’s artwork, “The Battle,” was created with acrylic paint and glued-on yarn.

During April, Boxberry students will display their “Jazz” painting collages at Café Nomad in Norway.
