FARMINGTON — The next topic for Prescriptions for Health is cardiovascular disease featuring cardiologist Dr. Paul Sweeney from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in the Chisholm Room, Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Prescriptions for Health is a health education series that features local physicians who present on a variety of health and wellness topics. The series is open to the public and free.
Sweeney is the medical director for cardiopulmonary services at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
“Cardiac disease is very common in our community,” said Sweeney. “At this presentation we will discuss way to prevent heart disease, as well as the more common presentations of cardiac disease, including typical symptoms, tests available for evaluation and potential treatment options. Significant time will be reserved for questions.”
Sweeney is a board-certified internist who specializes in cardiovascular diseases. He is also affiliated with Cardiovascular Consultants in Portland, which participates in cardiology specialty services held at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Sweeney sees patients every Monday and Friday at Outpatient Services on the second floor at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
