LEWISTON — Lewiston police have charged Nicholas Malcolm, 22, of Woolwich with reckless conduct with a firearm following a shooting on Marble Street on Jan. 22.

According to Lt. Mark Cornelio, Lewiston police responded to a report of a disturbance at 81 Marble Street on that date and discovered that gun shots had been fired at the residence.

A woman was injured in the shooting and treated at Central Maine Medical Center.

In the process of investigating the shooting, police discovered that a home down the street from the shooting location had been broken into, and items stolen some time before the shooting occurred.

On Friday, police arrested Malcolm, charging him with one felony count of reckless conduct with a firearm, and felony counts of aggravated assault and robbery. Malcolm is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
