Lexi Clavet, left, Jen Rioux and Hannah Fournier chat during a slow period of the Edward Little High School Ski Team Mattress Fundraiser at Auburn Middle School on Saturday. Faced with the need to raise $3,000 to compete in the Class A State Meet in Mars Hill in February, the 23-member ski team and Custom Fundraising Solutions teamed up to raise the money. “Skiing is expensive,” said head coach Tara Eretzian, explaining that the team would have to stay three nights in Presque Isle during the state championship meet. Aside from the Auburn Ski Association, the ski team is self-supporting, Eretzian said. The ski team sold 14 mattresses as of 12:30 p.m. Victoria Bunker fills out paperwork at right.
