Mystery Photo for August 16, 2020. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal

Last week’s mystery photo of the overgrown “General Lee” boat on Route 24 on the way to Land’s End on Bailey Island led to some varying interpretations on social media as well as phone calls and emails. While some people thought the photo was inappropriate during these tumultuous times, others were reminded of the popular sitcom that is remembered as cheesy and inappropriate while a few pointed out that it was ironic how something associated with the confederacy was overgrown and being swallowed by natural beauty and fitting while others commented that it’s simply art and not political which was the original intent. Our winner, Sandy Orr, of Lisbon Falls, was chosen as the winner of the $20 Hannaford gift card.
