LEWISTON — Curbside Christmas tree collection begins next week, according to the city’s Public Works Department.
The city will collect all Christmas trees left out with the weekly trash collection on Jan. 3 through 7. Trees will be collected on the residents’ normal trash collection days.
Trees must have all tinsel, lights and ornaments removed. They won’t be collected at any other times, but residents can take the trees to the city lots themselves.
Both the city’s Public Works yard, 103 Adams Ave., and the Solid Waste Facility, 424 River Road, will collect trees. They are chipped and used to make mulch.
