BREWER — Teven Colon ran for one touchdown and connected with Zack Leblond on a halfback pass for another score to help Edward Little gain its first win of the season with a 21-8 decision over Brewer in a Pine Tree Conference football game Friday.

Colon rushed for 95 yards on 18 carries while quarterback Josh Delong hit on 6-of-12 passes for 134 yards and picked up another 99 yards on the ground. The Red Eddies (1-2) got on the scoreboard first on a Dylan Deconzo 36-yard run off tackle.

Leading 7-0 at the half, the Red Eddies didn’t allow the Witches (0-3) a first down until after intermission and kept them off the scoreboard until the closing seconds of the game. The Red Eddie defense turned in a stellar effort as nose tackle Corey Spruill forced five fumbles. Three of the fumbles were recovered by linebacker Luc Farrago.

Edward Little extended its lead to 15-0 on Colon’s 1-yard score in the third quarter. In the fourth, Colon hit Leblond for the 8-yard scoring strike.

Sophomore Dillon Smith led Brewer with 47 yards on the ground and scored the lone touchdown from 1 yard out.
