Hioya Miura will lead the Bates College Orchestra in showcasing student soloists who won this year’s Bates Orchestra Concerto Competition. The concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Olin Arts Center Concert Hall, 75 Russell St., Lewiston. Miura is a composer and an associate professor of music at Bates College. Ursula Rall will be soloist for the first movement of Elgar’s “Cello Concerto,” and Grace Link will perform the first movement of Grieg’s “Piano Concerto in A minor.” Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7 and the Adagietto from Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 round out the program. The show is free, but tickets are required. For tickets, visit batesconcerts.eventbrite.com. For more information, call 207-786-6135 or email olinarts@bates.edu.
