LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its February programming. The center will be closed Feb. 18 for Presidents Day.
Red Cross Home Fire Campaign: Thursdays, Feb. 7 and 21. Kelley Lebeda will teach the use, care and installation of smoke detectors. There will be a sign-up to have a Red Cross representative do a home visit and install new detectors if necessary.
Peasant Pantry Cafe: Thursday, Feb. 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cafe features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month it will be sausage potato soup and bread and fruit. The meal is open to the public at no charge. Donations are welcome and are shared among the women who prepare the meal.
ACEs: Thursday, Feb. 7, noon to 1:30 p.m. The Adverse Childhood Experiences program offers group discussion about healthy coping/healing.
No Sugar Challenge: Tuesday, Feb 19. 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Join a 30-day, no-sugar challenge.
Journaling: Wednesday, Feb. 20. The class will cover personal growth journaling. Each participant will receive a new journal to personalize. Sign-up is necessary. Call 207-513-3922 or stop by.
Bingo: Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Art Van: Wednesdays, Feb. 13 and 27. It will be an opportunity for creative expression through art.
February Birthday Celebration: Wednesday, Feb. 27, 12:30 p.m.
Clothing Giveaway: Thursday, Feb. 28.
A full calendar of events and descriptions of support groups is available at www.wisdomswomen.org. The center hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. All women are welcome. Programs are free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily, and the center has a shower.
The center is also seeking volunteer applicants for companions who have a professional background in social work, teaching, nursing, chaplaincy or other related fields to work with local women. The commitment is half a day weekly. Those interested should contact Executive Director Klara Tammany at 207-513-3922.

All morning programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
