100 years ago: 1919

A memorial service for the late Col. Theodore Roosevelt is planned for Westminster Abbey at a date not yet fixed. Such a service for a foreigner is extremely rare at Westminster Abbey. All arrangements are not yet perfected. It is expected that King George and Queen Mary will attend. The archbishop of Canterbury probably will officiate.

50 years ago: 1969

The annual meeting for Child and Family Mental Health Services will be held Sunday evening at the Heritage Room of Stekino’s, at 6:30 o’clock. Speaker at this 18th annual meeting will be Dr. Robert J. Weiss, professor and chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth College.

25 years ago: 1994

The East Auburn Baptist Church held its annual meeting recently and the following people were elected to serve new terms: trustees, Cliff McNeil, Phil Trundy, Mike Mitchell, Al Simpkins; deaconesses, Esther Robinson and Sandra Prince, and the Rev. Roger A. Cousineau, church pastor.
