REGION — On Tuesday, Nov. 6 Franklin County voters will head to the polls for General and Referendum elections. Ballots across the state will be cast for a Governor, a Congressional District 2 representative to the United States House of Representatives, and a U.S. Senator.
In Franklin County, voters will decide on a Judge of Probate, County Treasurer, District Attorney, and County Commissioner.
Voters in neighboring Androscoggin County will decide on a Judge of Probate, Sheriff, District Attorney, and several County Commission seats.
Farmington voters will determine whether the Town will enter into an Agreement with the Atlantic Salmon Federation to remove the Walton’s Mill Pond Dam and to make improvements at Walton’s Mill Pond Park including the construction of more parking, a small flexible lawn space, wooden walkways, public restroom, covered pavilion, trail improvements and historical preservation elements. The proposed project will also establish an ASF funded account to be managed by the Town for future maintenance of the park improvements. It also supports the replacement of culverts on Clover Mill Road and Cummings Hill Road.
If approved, the work on each project will be fully funded by the ASF. The estimated cost for the total project is $1,225,000. There will be no Town investment, as stipulated in a contract between ASF and the Town. The terms and conditions of the agreement will be negotiated between ASF and the Selectmen acting in the best interests of the Town.
