Carol Emery from River Valley Healthy Communities presents Caroline Siekman, Crescent Park fourth-grader, with the first place regional Tar Wars winner certificate for 2014. Her poster with the slogan ‘ Being Tobacco Free is the Healthy Living Key’ was chosen out of more than 100 posters from fourth graders from area schools. Caroline also wins a new bicycle and helmet to help continue to be active. Tar Wars is a tobacco-free education program for kids created by the American Academy of Family Physicians and was presented by Dr. Clayton Bell last fall.
