LEWISTON — Police were investigating two unrelated assaults early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Rob Ullrich said a man was found beaten on the sidewalk in front of 78 College St. late Monday night. The victim’s name and age were not available by 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. The man was being treated at Central Maine Medical Center.

Earlier Monday night, a woman was reportedly assaulted in Kennedy Park, the sergeant said. Her identity was not released by early Tuesday. She also was taken to CMMC for treatment.
