What to expect: The Edward Little swim teams have gained several new athletes with swimming experience. The EL girls’ team has some strong swimmers and is led by senior captain Leila Chirayath in the sprint freestyle events and backstroke. The girls’ team should be competitive with most of the KVAC opponents and finish in the top 20 of Class A. The EL boys will be led by senior captain Brendan Whitman, who will compete well with the top boys in Class A in the sprint freestyle and backstroke. Also, seniors Noah Davis and Donovan Shaw will look to qualify for the state meet in individual events. The small number of boys competing will make it difficult to compete for wins, but the boys will be looking for individual qualifications and fast times.

They have brought on a few swimmers with some years of experience behind them and they maintain a strong crew from last year. Boutin is equally excited about the attitude and initial ability of some of the swimmers with none or little competitive swimming experience. They look to have stronger team finishes at both the KVAC and state championships as well as a large contingent of individual qualifiers for both meets.
