RUMFORD — Maine Event Comedy brings a way to laugh off some of that turkey in a post-Thanksgiving show at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24. Featured acts include the WTFD?! game show and stand-up comedy from New Hampshire’s Ian Clark, Boston’s Sam Pelletier and South Portland’s Brendan Williams.

WTFD?!, a debacle of a traveling circus turned game show, is hosted by Cloud Morris and Brian Brinegar. The fun and fast-paced games feature contestants drawn from the audience and no contestant will go home empty-handed.

Clark was voted New Hampshire’s Best New Comic in 2015 and was a finalist in New Hampshire’s Best Bar Comic contest. He’s performed at Improv Boston, The Comedy Studio, and Dick Doherty’s Comedy Den.

Before moving to Beantown, Pelletier cut his comedy teeth in Burlington, Vermont. He was part of the 2017 and 2016 Portland Comedy Festival, and the 2015 Green Mountain Comedy Festival.

Williams advanced to the semifinals at Empire’s Comedy Summer Classic competition in Portland, and also in the Tightest Five contest in Lewiston.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of show. Advance tickets may be purchased at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress St. or online at 49franklin.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. for cash only pub menu and cash bar. The performance is intended for ages 18 and older.
