FRYEBURG — The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, 18 Bradley St., presents the 37th “Asbury Short Film Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9.

Returning to Fryeburg for a seventh year, New York City’s longest-running short film exhibition brings an eclectic lineup of shorts from all around the world. Asbury “concerts” combine classic, world-renowned films with new festival honorees, providing a rare opportunity to see internationally-acclaimed selections on a real cinema screen. Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman (“Juno,” “Up in the Air,” “Thank You For Smoking”) calls Asbury: “The best short film show I’ve ever seen.”

Since its founding in 1980, this short film show has been presented at places such as The Museum of Fire Arts in Boston, The Lake Shore Theatre in Chicago, Summer Stage in Central Park, the AERO Theatre in Santa Monica, California, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and the Leminske Theater in Berlin, Germany, to name a few. Each year the tour stops grow larger, and audiences have had the amazing experience of seeing the world’s best short films on the big screen.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Order online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac, or call the box office at 207-935-9232.
