Living in the country and appreciating my privacy, I get annoyed when strange people come in my driveway. I always ask myself, now what are they peddling — religion, products or politics? It happened to me recently when I came out from my wood lot and found an unknown car in my driveway, and my wife talking to a woman I didn’t know.
Curious about what she was peddling, I listened to the conversation and realized the woman was Dorettta Colburn, (yup, politics), who is running as a Democrat representing District 71. Up to that point I was only familiar with Sawin Millett, who has been a fixture in Augusta for a bazillion years.
The more I listened, the more I liked what I was hearing. She has great enthusiasm, ideas, credentials and energy — all things desperately needed in Augusta. I hope others will join me in support of Doretta Colburn.
