PARIS — Town Manager Vic Hodgkins told selectmen Tuesday evening that the town can expect $64,253 from the state as reimbursement for building the town sand and salt shed.
The shed was constructed in 1988.
Hodgkins said the money from the Maine Department of Transportation is expected to arrive between now and Christmas and put in a special fund.
A reimbursement program run in connection with the MDOT and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection was created by the Maine Legislature in 1986. Towns that participated were prioritized from one to five for reimbursement purposes.
Hodgkins said at the Aug. 13 board meeting that Paris was one of the priority five towns, but the state had reimbursed almost all the others in the program so Paris could expect its money soon.
