KAMAS, UT — Michelle Anne Morin Andersen, 48, of Kamas, Utah, passed away on Sept 11 in South Jordan, Utah, after a brief struggle with cancer. Michelle was born in Lewiston and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel. After graduating from the University of Utah, she attended medical school at the University of New England, graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathy. She was a resident in anesthesiology at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and then the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. She then worked as an anesthesiologist at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, the Edmundston Regional Hospital in Edmundston, New Brunswick, and Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Michelle loved spending time with her family at her cabin on Scopan Lake in northern Maine, fishing and canoeing with her children and exercising in her rowing scull.
She is survived by her parents, Roland and Anne Morin, her siblings, Yvette Morin, Lucien Morin, Frank Morin, Nicholas Morin, James Morin, Christopher Morin, Joseph Morin, Timothy Morin, Andrew Morin and Philip Morin, and by her children, William Popov, Thomas Popov, and Samantha Andersen, and by her husband, Brent Andersen.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel at 510 East Silver Summit Parkway, Park City, Utah. Viewings will be at the same chapel Sunday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 17, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
