PORTLAND — Patrick S. Hunnewell, 58, of Durham peacefully passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Maine Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 22, 1959, a son of Franklin and Cynthia (Bowie) Hunnewell. He grew up in the Durham area and attended local schools, along with being a student at Brunswick High School.
After high school, Patrick started working for the family business at Hunnewell Abattoir, and continued to work and grow the family farming business for many years. He worked on the farm all the way up until his passing. It was truly a great passion for him.
Patrick will always be remembered for his love of haying, gardening and raising chickens. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Hunnewell, of Durham; his two sons: Charles and Douglas Hunnewell of Durham; his sister, Darlene Hunnewell, and her significant other, Brian Sabine, of Durham; and his brother, Curt Hunnewell, and his wife, Leslie, of Colorado. He also leaves behind his niece and nephew, Aida and Paxton Hunnewell; his uncles Everett Clour, Calvin Bowie Sr. and James and George Hunnewell; his aunt, Beatrice Libby, and her husband, Clifford; and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, April, and his daughters Tiffany and Sarah.

Visiting hours will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at noon at Sawyer Cemetery on Route 136 in Durham.
