WALES — After a scoreless first half, Alice Mackay and Camryn Wahl found the net to give Mt. Abram a narrow 2-1 victory over Oak Hill in a girls’ soccer tilt Thursday.

Sadie Waterman scored the Raiders’ (2-1-0) lone goal.

Emily Kidd made 10 saves for Mt. Abram, while Paige Gonyea turned aside three shots for Oak Hill.

Madison 5, Winthrop 3

WINTHROP — The Bulldogs improved to 1-2-0 with an MVC girls’ soccer victory Thursday.

Aaliyah WilsonFalcone had two goals for Winthrop (2-1-0), and Jillian Schmelzer added one. Brooke Burnham stopped 18 shots.

Spruce Mountain 6, Mountain Valley 0

JAY — Sierra Mitchell netted a pair of goals Thursday to lead Spruce Mountain to a 6-0 rout over Mountain Valley in MVC girls’ soccer action.

Jaycee Cole, Calley Baker, Emily Baker and Leah Gilbert also tallied for the Phoenix.

Annabelle Collins needed only two saves to notch the shutout, while Taylor Henry turned aside 14 shots for the Falcons.

Oxford Hills 4, Cony 0

AUGUSTA — Four different scorers led the Vikings to a KVAC girls’ soccer victory over the Rams on Thursday.

Cassidy Dumont, Ceceila Dieterich, Emily Wallace and Bella Divivo each scored for Oxford Hills (2-0-1). Jillian Douglas earned the shutout with five saves.

Kiara Henry led Cony (0-3-0) with 14 saves.

Monmouth 5, Telstar 0

MONMOUTH — The Mustangs rolled past the Rebels to pick up the MVC girls’ soccer victory Thursday.

Abbie Crawford, Audrey Fletcher, Alicen Burnham, Emma Johnson and Anna Lewis had goals for Monmouth. Fletcher and Lewis also had assists, while Destiny Clough made four saves.

Poland 1, York o

POLAND — Sophia Martin’s late goal lifted the Knights to a 1-0 field hockey win over York on Thursday.

Martin’s goal came with 18 seconds remaining for the Knights (2-1).

The Wildcats fall to 2-1.

Leavitt 4, Maranacook 0

READFIELD — Kayla Leclerc scored twice to lead the Hornets to a KVAC field hockey win Thursday.

Daisy Twitchell and Page Mantel also scored for Levitt (1-2-0).

Alyssa Pratt made 10 saves for Maranacook (0-3-0).

Messalonskee 4, Edward Little 0

OAKLAND — Kaitlyn Smith netted a pair of goals to propel Messalonskee to a 4-0 victory over Edward Little in a field hockey matchup Thursday.

Rylee Poulin and Abby Breznyak also tallied for the Eagles (3-0).

Rylie Genest (four) and Julia Vigue (four) needed only eight saves to preserve the shutout, while Elise Syphers turned aside 15 shots between the posts for Edward Little (1-2).

Cony 2, Oxford Hills 1, 2OT

PARIS — Sophie Whitney scored with 3:05 left in double overtime, giving the Rams their first win of the season in KVAC field hockey action Thursday.

Anna Stolt scored off of Sierra Prebit and Kami Lambert assists, while Emily Douglas made five saves for the Rams (1-2).

Kate Bowen scored off of a Brooke Carson assist for the Vikings (2-1). Madison Day made seven saves.

Boys’ soccer

St. Dom’s 2, Sacopee Valley 1

AUBURN — St. Dom’s earned its first win of the season Thursday, coming from behind to defeat Sacopee Valley 2-1 in boys’ soccer.

Mike Murphy scored the lone goal for Sacopee Valley (0-1) in the first half to make it a 1-0 score at halftime.

In the second half, Alex Roy received a pass from Leo Naous and scored to tie it at 1-1. Bryson Kieltyka later scored the game-winner for the Saints (1-1-1).

St. Dom’s outshot Sacopee Valley 10-5, and had five more corner kicks than the visitors.

Saints goalkeeper Matt Gosselin saved four shots, while Matt Day saved eight for Sacopee in the loss.
