LEWISTON — Kennedy Park will get new concrete sidewalks and paths this fall as part of a restoration project.

According to a city announcement, work will begin Monday, Sept. 10, with construction expected to last until the beginning of November.

The bid for the work was awarded to J. Pratt Construction for $339,000. The project is part of a series of rehab projects scheduled for the park, known as the Kennedy Park Master Plan.

According to Public Works Director Dave Jones, this year’s project is the “northwest quadrant rehab” at the park, with work including the removal of bituminous and brick sidewalks, installing base material and concrete sidewalk, installing benches, trash receptacles, short, vertical safety posts, ADA detectable ramps, curbing, and loaming and seeding.
