LYMAN — A Hollis man died Monday afternoon in a two-car crash on Route 35 in Lyman that involved a woman from Lovell, according to a state news release.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland wrote that Alexander Mcinnis, 29, was driving south when he crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Rachel Thurston, 46, of Lovell.

Mcinnis died at the scene.

Thurston was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries not considered life-threatening.

State police said it is unclear why Mcinnis crossed into oncoming traffic, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing, McCausland wrote.
