BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College Museum of Art has announced their schedule for September.

Symbolic Form and Materiality: Richard Pousette-Dart’s Connections to Cambridge University — Sept. 6, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Visual Arts Center, Kresge Auditorium. This lecture, lead by Jennifer Powell, senior curator, Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge, United Kingdom, and lecturer, University of Cambridge, presents new research into the artistic practice and philosophical inclinations of the painter Richard Pousette-Dart.

Winslow Homer and Fishing — Sept. 7, 4 to 5 p.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. In this lecture, Macauley Lord ’77, author, chaplain and renowned fly-casting instructor at the L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery School, discusses 19th-century fishing techniques and Homer’s passion for fishing.

Color TV, Psychedelic Culture, and Visual Art of the 1960s: Richard Pousette-Dart in Context — Sept. 14, 5 to 6 p.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. Sarah Montross, associate curator, deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, discusses parallels between color television’s entrancing qualities, 1960s psychedelic culture and simultaneous artistic experiments with vivid colors and patterns in her lecture. Artists embraced televisual perception; explored intersections with psychedelia and spirituality; and probed freedom and control in a media-saturated society.

Curator’s Tour of “Winslow Homer and the Camera” — Sept. 18, noon to 1 p.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. Dana E. Byrd, assistant professor of art history and co-curator of “Winslow Homer and the Camera,” leads a tour of the exhibition in this lecture.

Family Saturday at the Museum of Art — Sept. 22, 10 to 11 a.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. Museum of Art student education assistants lead a weekend program for all ages, including a discussion of works on view and a related hands-on activity. Come enjoy interactive learning and fun.

The halley k harrisburg and Michael Rosenfeld Artist-in-Residence — linn meyers: “Let’s Get Lost: Finding One’s Path as an Artist” — Sept. 26, 7:30 to 9 p.m., Visual Arts Center, Kresge Auditorium. linn meyers, the halley k harrisburg ’90 and Michael Rosenfeld Artist-in-Residence, is an internationally recognized artist celebrated for her large-scale wall drawings.

Opening Reception for “Let’s Get Lost” and “Listening Glass” — Sept. 27, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. The reception’s open house and tours celebrate the site-specific installations “Let’s Get Lost” and “Listening Glass.” The complementary visual and acoustic components actively invite audience engagement in the exhibition.

Creative Collaboration in Line, Sound, and Gesture — Sept. 28, noon to 1 p.m., Museum of Art, Pavilion. Artists linn meyers, Rebecca Bray, Josh Knowles, and James Bigbee Garver discuss the creation of “Let’s Get Lost” and “Listening Glass” at the museum.

The Bowdoin College Museum of Art, 9400 College Station, is open to the public free of charge, although donations are welcome. The museum is wheelchair accessible through the Pavilion entrance. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 28; closed Monday and national holidays.
