As a resident of Androscoggin County, I am glad that Melissa Simones Landry is running for Androscoggin County Commissioner.

I have known and worked with Landry for years. Her significant experience in state and federal government, as well as in the private sector, will make her an effective public servant. She is someone who considers issues thoroughly before taking a course of action. Her evenhanded temperament and willingness to listen to all sides of an issue is exactly what is needed in today’s tumultuous political climate.

While Landry’s list of qualifications for county commissioner is long and impressive, the most compelling factor for me is her genuine love for the Lewiston area. She grew up working in the family business in Lewiston and has volunteered her time to promote numerous worthy causes.

I support Melissa Simones Landry for Androscoggin County Commissioner, District 2, on Nov. 6.
