POLAND – Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will offer a workshop and roundtable discussion on farmland conservation, “So What Will You Do with the Farm?,” from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Chipman Farm, Range Hill Road.
Stephanie Gilbert, farmland protection specialist, and Louanna Perkins, executive director of Maine Farmland Trust, will be speakers. Lunch will be provided. There is no charge. Discussion topics will include estate planning, transferring the farm to offspring or new owners and insights on how to preserve farmland for future agricultural use. Additional time will be allotted to a question-and-answer session.
Preregistration is required and must be received by the end of the work day on Nov. 8. To register or to receive more information, call the conservation district office at 753-9400, ext. 400.
