BRYANT POND — The Oxford County Democrats will hold their annual summer barbeque and fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 26. This is an opportunity to meet current and future legislators and county officials, to meet special guests and party leaders and to plan for the upcoming fall elections to elect Democrats to office in Oxford County.
The event will be held at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center on the shores of Lake Christopher, beginning with a social hour on the waterfront at 4:30 p.m, and continuing with a barbeque meal in the dining hall, followed by remarks by candidates. Vegetarian options are available. The ticket prices are $20 per person and may be reserved by calling County Democratic chair Don Berry at 207-388-2181, or emailing jatc567@yahoo.com. Information regarding sponsorship or host committee participation is available from Don Berry.
Other upcoming events include Oxford County and Fryeburg fairs. The shifts are three to four hours. Don Berry will coordinate the volunteers for the fairs and for staffing offices to make phone calls.
An office will open in Bethel on Sept. 18 on the corner of Main and Church streets. Anyone interested in helping supporting Democratic candidates should contact County Chair Don Berry 207-388-2181. Volunteers are needed for phone banks and canvassing.
