AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library’s newest discussion group, Bunch of Crocks, premieres at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, for those who love food and literature.
The first book is “Voracious: A Hungry Reader Cooks Her Way Through Great Books” by Cara Nicoletti. As a young bookworm reading in her grandfather’s butcher shop, Cara saw how books and food bring people to life. Now a butcher, cook, and talented writer, she serves up stories and recipes inspired by beloved books. Breakfast sausage in Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House in the Big Woods” and chocolate cupcakes with peppermint buttercream from Jonathan Franzen’s “The Corrections” are a few of the offerings.
The group will try a small sample of one of the foods in each chosen title at the monthly discussions. Books may be borrowed through the inter-library loan process.
The library is at 49 Spring St. For information call the library at 207-333-6640, ext. 4.
