LEWISTON — Laureat “Larry” E. LaFrance, 93, a resident of Acadia Avenue, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 18, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion with family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 3, 1925, the son of Joseph and Bernadette (Cinqmais) Lafrance.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theater from 1943-1945 during World War II.
Following the war, he met and married the former Cecile Roux on Jan. 11, 1947.
Larry was employed with his family business, Pleasant Dairy of Lewiston, for many years until his retirement.
Following retirement, he enjoyed spending family time with friends and neighbors out in his backyard reminiscing about the old days. He was also an avid animal lover who made sure all neighborhood strays were fed in his garage and the birds were fed in the yard.
Survivors include one sister, Giselle Lavoie of Lewiston; one sister-in-law, Fernande Choiunard of Lewiston; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Cecile, he was predeceased by one brother, Henry LaFrance, and one sister, Grace Bachand.
