WEST PARIS — Betty A. McAfee, 89, formerly of Rumford for many years, died Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris, Maine.

She was born in Joplin, Missouri on Oct. 8, 1928, the daughter of Rufus A. and Anna Louise (Stewart) McAfee, and had attended schools in Joplin.

Betty worked at Livermore Shoe and then at W.T. Grant Co. as a sales clerk, then at Goodwins Dairy Bar & Restaurant and then at Freddie’s Restaurant in Rumford, until retirement in 1993.

Betty was married in Joplin, Missouri, on Oct. 19, 1946, to Wilfred Boivin, who died Aug. 5, 1976.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sally Morrison, and several sisters and a brother.
